This short film is based on Ouspensky’s book of the same name. Most of the dialogue and commentary are taken directly from the book as it combines historical footage of the period (1914-1924) with re-enactments of crucial events in Ouspensky’s life. This film captures the ambiance of the period and the compelling nature of Ouspensky’s search for objective knowledge as well as his life-changing encounter with Gurdjieff and his powerful ideas.
