Quotes Of The Moment

"While there remains a single tear in a human eye, while there remains a single broken heart, we refuse to accept happiness. Instead of coveting degrees, powers, initiations and divine dominions, we must strive to become men and women who are useful to suffering humanity."
Samael Aun Weor

"Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them."
Rabindranath Tagore

"The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything."
Albert Einstein

    • Dear internet users, dear readers,

We would like to welcome you to Venerabilis Opus. This Venerable Work aims, by way of its Online Gnosis Courses and edifying content, to integrally retransmit the Wisdom common to all civilisations, religions, cultures and traditions. This universal Knowledge is called Gnosis in Greek. Venerabilis Opus is a voluntary contribution. It is very important to us that these Teachings, retransmitted since the dawn of time, be made accessible to all, for free, as they are at the heart of the different religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Sufism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism, Zen, Shamanism, Hermetism, etc. It is this ancient Wisdom, or Gnosis, which was also taught in the heart of the Temples of all the great Civilisations: Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, Aztec, Maya, Nordic, Native American, African. . .

Great Masters such as Krishnamurti, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Blavatsky, the Dalai Lama, Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, Eliphas Levi, Rumi, Fulcanelli, Pythagoras, or even Samael Aun Weor, founder of the International Gnostic Movement, all managed, through working on themselves, to awaken their Consciousness in order to humbly retransmit this universal Knowledge, while offering humanity concrete tools for putting an end to ignorance and the sleep of Consciousness. Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Quetzalcoatl, Rama, Samael Aun Weor, Hermes, Melchizedek, Mohammed, Lao Tsu, etc., all sacrificed themselves, all lived this Christic Drama of Passion, to serve as examples and to teach men and women how to reclaim their lost divine state, through the Knowledge of self. “Know thyself and you shall know the Universe and the Gods.”

In the times of ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, mystical India, Maya and Aztec civilisations, Gnosis was a highly venerated and secret teaching, reserved for Initiates, both men and women. In order to prove their spiritual thirst, the aspirants had to undergo terrible tests which endangered their lives. They were then brought to the doors of the Temples of Knowledge where they had access to this universal Wisdom. Today, the occult symbolism of ancient Gnosis - which can be found in sacred books such as the Bible, the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita, the Torah, the Zohar, the Dhammapada, the Popol Vuh, the I Ching, the Zend Avesta, the Book of the Dead, the Edda, etc. - has been revealed to us by the Great Masters so that we may awaken our Consciousness and recover our latent Faculties. This true spiritual transformation is the fruit of the Three Factors of the Revolution of Consciousness, taught in all the great cultures and civilisations: Psychological Death, Birth in Spirit and disinterested Sacrifice, or the Gift of Self through love of others, through compassion. “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit,” said Jesus the Christ. This is the authentic alchemical work, the Great Work, which the traditions of the entire world speak to us of.

By registering for the Online Gnosis Courses, you will be able to discover for yourself this Teaching common to all the cultures of the world and synthesized in the books and lectures of Samael Aun Weor.
